Facilities Overview

Business operations are conducted from the corporate headquarters office, and a Remote Data Processing Co-hosting Facility as well as a totally redundant facility in Ohio. The security provisions for each of the locations are more fully described herein. Business and data processing functions can be accomplished at the remote location or from other remote locations should the headquarters office be compromised.

Corporate Headquarters

Corporate headquarters is housed in a contemporary three story office building, located in Hawthorne, New York. EFTN does not rent this office space; rather it owns it as an office condominium, in part with the other occupants of the building. This arrangement points to the commitment EFTN has made to the continuity and permanence of its business operations. EFTN recently conducted a complete renovation of its facilities to expand its customer service capabilities; to create a more efficient work flow among its internal departments and to enhance the security features of its operations, specifically in the customer records, programming and data processing functions. As a part of this effort, each of these important areas is located within a secure, access protected enclosure. Specifically, access to these important areas is controlled 24/7 via state of the art mag-locks and proximity card readers, which are programmed to limit access only to pre-qualified individuals. Glass walls are also utilized to provide for an open environment and the ability to supervise staff members. The entire office is protected from burglary and fire hazard via access control devices, glass break detectors, internal motion detectors and smoke and fire detectors, all of which are monitored 24/7 by an independent central station security company. All waste paper documents that could be related to customers banking or financial activity are shredded on site, daily.

Remote Date Processing Co-Hosting Facility

EFTN utilizes a secure, remote Data Processing Co-hosting Facility to maintain and house its primary data processing computer systems as well as the Ohio facility. This 30,000 sq-ft state-of-the-art facility employs a variety of features to assure its security and continuity of data processing operations

Security

The entire facility is supervised and maintained 24/7 by knowledgeable information technology professionals on-site.

Physical access to the building is controlled by:

  • Retinal Scan Identification Systems
  • Mag-locks
  • Video monitoring

Additional security features include:

  • Interior and exterior video surveillance
  • Biometric and key card readers at all entrances
  • Individually locked cabinets and cages
  • 24 Hour staffing

Power

Continuous electrical power is provided via its own redundant emergency back-up power supply through two, dual fuel 1.25 megawatt caterpillar electrical generators, which themselves supply Liebert UPS power conditioners. Proper interior humidity and cooling conditions are provided via specially designed redundant Liebert HVAC air conditioning systems.

  • Dual power feeds from power utility
  • Utility grade generators with on-site diesel fuel storage
  • Redundant UPS

Connectivity

Internet services to the co-hosting facility are provided through multiple fiber optic links to Verizon, MCI Worldcom and other carriers with diversely routed circuits, with virtually unlimited bandwidth capabilities. The communication infrastructure available is frame relay, ATM, dial-up, and T1 and T3 circuits, operating at no more than 20 percent to allow for any demand spikes or problems.

  • Diversely routed fiber-optic SONET links to four carriers
  • Multiple Tier 1 service backbone Providers
  • Cisco powered network with fully meshed fiber architecture

Our data is managed on RAID file servers which themselves are configured in a mirrored fashion, such that data resides simultaneously on two separate and distinct servers. Each server is covered by tape back-up. Should anything happen to one file server, the data is preserved on the other server. Duplicate tape records are also kept in a secure location, off premises. – FMO200 Fire Suppression Systems
